Hyundai becomes India’s 5th most valuable automaker by market cap Hyundai has become India’s fifth most valuable automaker in terms of market valuation. Following its listing on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Hyundai Motor India’s market capitalization (MCAP) stands at Rs 1,47,914.98 crore. Maruti Suzuki is the most valuable automaker in India, with a market cap of Rs 3,74,796.16 crore. Mahindra & Mahindra has the second-highest MCAP of Rs 3,58,583.97 crore, followed by Tata Motors at Rs 3,23,669.61 crore and Bajaj Auto in fourth place with an MCAP of Rs 2,89,274.58 crore. Hyundai Motor India Ltd listed at Rs 1,931, down 1.47% against the issue price of Rs 1,960 on the BSE. One of the most anticipated IPOs of the year had a lukewarm response and the stock was down 7.12% at the end of the opening day. On the NSE, the stock ended at Rs 1,819.60, down by 7.16%. The Hyundai IPO was the biggest since LIC’s initial share sale of Rs 21,000 crore. It was also the first IPO by a carmaker in over 2 decades, the last being Maruti Suzuki’s listing in 2003.
