Eluru mayor joins TDP

Vijayawada: In a significant blow to YSRCP in Eluru, mayor Sheikh Noorjahan and her spouse, SMR Pedababu, defected to TDP on Tuesday. The couple met with Nara Lokesh, the TDP national general secretary, at his residence in Undavalli, where Lokesh welcomed them into the party with traditional party shawls.
Eluru MLA Badeti Radhakrishna (Chanti), who facilitated the mayor couple’s transition along with their supporters, stated that numerous YSRCP leaders are expressing keen interest in aligning with the coalition govt.Accompanying the mayor couple were former EUDA chairman and current YSRCP town president B Srinivas, former AMC chairman Mancha Maibabu, and various other YSRCP leaders who joined the TDP in the presence of Lokesh, who concurrently serves as the minister for Education and IT.
The minister said YSRCP has failed to derive lessons from its electoral defeat and persistently engages in disseminating false propaganda against the public govt. He provided assurances that the coalition govt will honour every commitment made during the election campaign.
