Hyderabad: The Telangana high court has directed the GHMC commissioner to inspect and take action against illegal and unauthorised constructions in Kummariwadi of Asifnagar. The court further directed the commissioner to submit a compliance report to the registrar (judicial) of the court after taking action within four weeks.
Justice K Lakshman issued these orders on Friday while dealing with two petitions from the same area. Mohammed Abdul Mubeen and one other petitioner approached the court challenging the show cause notices issued by GHMC.
During the hearing of the petitions, the court was informed that concerned GHMC officials usually never respond to complaints of unauthorised constructions in the area. The court was informed that there are more than 350 constructions in the Kummariwadi area that are allegedly unauthorised constructions.
One of the counsel for the petitioners brought to the notice of the court that the local MLA of that area and corporator of Asifnagar had allegedly also constructed buildings in the same locality without permission. But, said that officials did not react to that.
