Two groups of college students clashed with each other in the middle of the road near Banjee Junction in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.
A massive traffic jam was reported in the area due to the clash, with many commuters stranded for hours.
The students, reportedly from the same college, threw stones and sticks at each other, a video of which was widely shared on social media.
The police rushed to the area and special teams were deployed to bring the situation under control.
Police said that they are yet to determine the reason behind the clash. The police are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting enquiries to identify the students involved in the clash, following which further action will be taken.
Several students have filed complaints alleging that they were attacked by the other group without any reason.
Locals demanded action against the students involved in the incident. They also demanded that the college authorities should take disciplinary action against the students.
