High-Level Committee to Ensure Quality Ghee Supply for Temples in Andhra Pradesh | Vijayawada News

Committee to review ghee supply to temples across state

Vijayawada: Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has announced the formation of a high-level committee to review and propose improvements in the ghee supply process for temples across the state.
The committee, which is expected to submit its report within 15 days, will evaluate the procedures for collecting and delivering cow ghee, which is essential for temple prasadam preparation and rituals.
In a meeting at the endowments commissioner’s office on Tuesday, representatives from various dairy associations discussed the annual requirement of approximately 1,500 tonnes of cow ghee by the temples.
The minister emphasised the state’s priority to ensure “consistent and high-quality ghee supply”.
The meeting addressed the state’s current dairy capacity, existing ghee procurement methods, and the switch to a tender-based system in 2022, replacing the previous system of direct collection from dairies.
