Royal Enfield has revealed the Bear 650 – a new scrambler model based on the Interceptor 650. It is the fifth bike based on the brand’s 650cc platform. It will be launched on November 5. The Royal Enfield Bear 650 gets significant upgrades over the standard Interceptor 650. While it shares the same chassis, the scrambler features a Showa USD fork at the front and new dual shock absorbers at the rear. Suspension travel has been increased to 130 mm in the front and 115 mm in the rear. The Bear 650 also has a staggered wheel setup with 19 inches in the front and 17 inches in the rear. It rides on spoked wheels wrapped in tubed block pattern tyres. Braking is handled by discs with a 320 mm rotor at the front and a 270 mm disc at the rear, supported by switchable dual-channel ABS. In terms of its design, the Bear 650 has a classic scrambler look with a circular LED headlamp and a single-pod instrument console at the front, an exposed frame with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece seat set at 830 mm, and a single upswept exhaust instead of dual exhausts. The bike weighs 216 kg and has a ground clearance of 184 mm. Powering the Bear 650 is the familiar 649cc parallel twin engine. It produces 46 BHP @ 7,250 rpm, but peak torque has been raised to 56.5 Nm @ 5,150 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
