Caste Survey: Comprehensive Caste Survey: 56 Key Questions Unveiled Ahead of BC Survey | Hyderabad News

56 questions to form part of caste survey

Hyderabad: Even as the state govt is bracing itself to undertake BC survey from Nov 6, authorities have come up with an elaborate questionnaire consisting of 56 primary questions, with some interesting queries like if a person is involved in real estate or the person is an industrialist.
The questionnaire featuring a range of queries aimed essentially at employment and engagement specifics, will also focus on migration details. Another interesting question is regarding those employed in handicrafts-related jobs and if they have encountered any health issues because of their profession.
In the education and employment section, respondents will be asked about their involvement in business, real estate or industrial activities. Also, the survey will gather information regarding caste-based professions and health issues, if any, faced by family members engaged in such occupations.
The questionnaire also has some supplementary questions, bringing the total to 75, divided into two distinct parts. The first part focuses on family and includes general information such as educational background, employment status, land ownership, reservation benefits, political representation within the family and details about family members who have migrated. The second part is dedicated to gathering comprehensive family details.
Regarding the mother tongue of family members, respondents can choose from 18 languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, Lambada, Koya, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Gond, Kolum and Toti — each assigned with a unique code number. ‘Other languages’ option is also given.
The family member details section also addresses migration, collecting information on family members who have relocated to other states, countries and the reasons behind their migration. During the previous Samagra Kutumba Survey, there was no mention of Dharani passbook. However, this time, a specific question has been included to ascertain whether the family possesses one.
The political representation section includes detailed questions regarding the duration of family members’ tenure in various political posts.
