People in Diviseema area of Krishna district are in fear as IMD has predicted the cyclone to make landfall between Nellore and Machilipatnam.
Diviseema area where Krishna river intersects Bay of Bengal witnessed its worst cyclone on November 19, 1977.Around seven-metre high waves hit the region in the late night when people were asleep. Around 10,000 people died in the tragedy. Many villages were washed away in the high tides and it almost took two years for recovery.
People of Diviseema still remember the damage and stay cautious whenever officials sound a cyclone alert. Track of Michaung cyclone released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that cyclone is likely to hit the coast between Bapatla-Palakaya Tippa which is worrying the locals of Deviseema.
Meanwhile, Krishna district administration is focusing on restoring cyclone shelters.

Additionally, the Visakhapatnam-Cuddapah Tirumala express and Cuddapah-Visakhapatnam express have also been canceled.
