Riding on this old thread to update about my own ICE upgrade of the Honda Jazz VX CVT 2019 that I recently added to my garage.
The stock set-up was really nothing to write home about. A CD player with those buttons numbered 1-6 along the sides seems so ancient now. The sound was muffled and the snare hits while playing my kids’ Taylor Swift songs sounded out-of-phase somehow (In-house ICE expert Navin used the term “smeared” to describe it and I couldn’t have described it better!)
Figured I got a good deal on the car itself (<5 year old, <20,000 km) so decided to splurge a little. My FNA (friendly neighbourhood accessories) guy showed me some head units and I decided to go ahead with a sleek Blaupunkt HU that went well with the look of the car. My amp inherited from the Vento (going strong after a decade and some) is also a Blaupunkt. The 12" Morel subwoofer was housed in a custom box that fit snugly into the Vento's boot enclosure but sadly only ate up precious boot room in the smaller Jazz, so I left it out. FNA recommended Hertz components, which Navin warned me may be too bright for my liking but since this is going to be wifey's primary, went ahead (his reccos were DLS, Rainbow, Focal or Morel, for those who want only the best and Pioneer or Sony for the head-unit).
I may add a compact sub-woofer later (open to suggestions).
Summary of ICE set-up:
– Blaupunkt Jamaica 990 10.33″ touchscreen with wireless Car Play/ Android Auto
– Hertz CK-165 front components
– Hertz CX-165 rear speakers
– Integrated 360 degree and reverse camera
– Damping HiRes: 10 sheets
– (Reused) Blaupunkt GTA 450 4-channel amp
Purchased and installed at Car Cupid, Pune.
It’s still early days and I haven’t had the time to settle into my kind of music yet but wifey’s Bollywood/pop favourites sound perfectly alright!
This is what it looks like:
