HYDERABAD: Karimnagar police issued a Look Out Circular against an NRI who threatened Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam to ruin his political career and demanded Rs 20 lakh from him.
Police initially registered a case and identified the caller as Yasa Akhilesh Reddy, a native of Boduppal, Hyderabad, and currently residing in London.
According to police, in September, an unknown person called the MLA and threatened to ruin his political career, damage his reputation, and also make his two children orphans.
The caller also demanded Rs 20 lakh from the MLA. On a complaint from the MLA, police then registered a case at Kothapalli police station.
During the investigation, police found that the caller was identified as Yasa Akhilesh Reddy (33) from Bhavani Nagar, Boduppal, Hyderabad.
As he is currently in London and made the threats from there, a Look Out Circular was issued against the accused through the Bureau of Immigration, said Venkataramana, Asst Commissioner of Police, Karimnagar Rural.
