Hyderabad: Karimnagar police have issued a look out circular (LOC) against an NRI who allegedly threatened Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam to ruin his political career and demanded 20 lakh from him. Police initially registered a case and identified the caller as Yasa Akhilesh Reddy, a native of Boduppal, on the outskirts of the city and currently residing in London.
According to police, an unknown person called the MLA in Sept and threatened to ruin his political career, damage his reputation, and also make his two children orphans. The caller also demanded 20 lakh from the MLA. On a complaint from the MLA, police then registered a case at the Kothapalli police station.
During the investigation, police found that the caller Yasa Akhilesh Reddy, 33, from Bhavani Nagar, Boduppal.
As he is currently in London and made the threats from there, an LOC was issued against the accused through the Bureau of Immigration, Karimnagar Rural assistant commissioner of police Venkataramana said.
