Suzuki’s all-new eVX electric SUV will make its global debut in its production-ready avatar on 4th November 2024 in Milan, Italy. The EV will make its way to India with a public debut in January and a market launch in March 2025. This Made-in-India electric SUV, manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility, will also be exported to Japan and Europe.
Measuring around 4.3 metres in length, the new Maruti eVX will stay true to its concept, featuring a closed-off grille, upright nose flanked by large headlamps, and a flat bonnet. The pronounced, squarish wheel arches, a coupe SUV-like roofline, muscular shoulder creases, and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles will enhance its side profile. At the back, the new Maruti electric SUV will have connected LED taillamps.
Similar to the exterior, the interior will closely resemble the concept, with a few adjustments made for practicality. The eVX will have a minimalist approach along with a floating centre console with a rotary dial. It will feature a dual-screen setup functioning as an infotainment system and instrument cluster. The EV is likely to have uniquely designed AC vents and a two-spoke steering wheel. Features such as a 360-degree camera, frameless rearview mirror, and ADAS suite might also be on offer.
The upcoming Maruti electric SUV will be designed on an all-new platform derived from Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard architecture. The same platform will underpin Toyota’s electric SUV based on the eVXwhich is scheduled to go on sale in the second quarter of the next fiscal year. The Maruti eVX’s powertrain setup is likely to comprise a 60kWh battery pack and an electric motor, delivering a range of around 500 km on a single charge. The EV could be offered with both AWD and FWD options.
More details on the new Maruti EV will be revealed in the coming days. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
