Telangana DCA, Excise Dept bust major network involved in sale of narcotic drugs in Hyderabad-Telangana Today

Telangana DCA, Excise Dept bust major network involved in sale of narcotic drugs in Hyderabad


Hyderabad: In a significant breakthrough, the Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, carried out a joint operation with Prohibition and Excise department to bust a major network involved in illegal procurement, stocking, and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

The DCA and Prohibition and Excise teams raided GV Saluja Hospital, Rezimental Bazar, on Wednesday and detected huge stocks of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances including Fentanyl, Ketamine, Pentazocine, and Midazolam injections, etc. Investigations revealed that one Neha Bhagwath, a resident of Moula Ali, illegally supplied the narcotic and psychotropic drugs to the hospital.


According to DCA, Neha Bhagwath, who had two previous cases under the NDPS Act, was on bail in a NDPS Act case. A raid on Neha’s residence revealed stocks of narcotic drugs, including morphine injections, tablets, Fentanyl Citrate injections, and Fentanyl Citrate patches, Pentazocine injections etc. which were illegally procured and stocked for supply to various unlicensed entities. She confessed of illegally procuring these substances from Dinesh of Pioneer Drug House of Nagpur.

Other suspects Patturi Gopinath, Surender Singh Gusia and B Srinivas were also apprehended. According to DCA, Rajender Sing Saluja, his wife Dr Amrutha Sing Saluja, who and Dinesh are absconding.

Additional raids were being conducted at several hospitals where Neha Bhagwath had illegally supplied narcotic and psychotropic substances. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Secunderabad Prohibition and Excise Station.

Fentanyl (98 ampoules); Ketamine Hydrochloride (20 vials); Pentazocine (70 ampoules); Midazolam (9 vials), Succinyl Choline Injection (10 ml vial) (used as adjunct to general anesthesia) 12 vials

Drugs seized at the resident of Neha Bhagwath: (Injections and patches)

Fortrays (Pentazocine Lactate) (400 ampoules); Rumorf (Morphine Sulphate) (200 ampoules); Rufenyl (Fentanyl Citrate) (100 ampoules); 6iPZOCiN (Pentazocine Lactate) (40 ampoules); FenSpar (Fentanyl Citrate) (60 transdermal patches); Rumorf (Morphine) (40 tablets); Rufenyl (Fentanyl 25McG/hr) (26 transdermal patches); Rufenyl (Fentanyl 50 McG/hr) (6 transdermal patches); Thiosol (Thiopentone) (General Anesthetic) 1 vial and Sangesic 5 (Buprenorphine) (19 transdermal patches)
