Hyderabad: After questioning for nearly nine hours, Cyberabad police on Wednesday released Raj Pakala, BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s brother-in-law, in an NDPS case. Raj Pakala, who had earlier sought two days to face questioning, reached the Mokila police station along with his advocate and faced the investigators.
The Special Operation Team (SOT) of Cyberabad police on Saturday night conducted searches at the farmhouse of Raj Pakala, where a Diwali party was repoteddly being held for his relatives and friends. Police alleged that one of the attendees, Vijay Madduri, tested positive for cocaine. They also alleged that Raj Pakala allowed Vijay to misuse his premises by abusing drugs there.
On Wednesday, Raj Pakala was questioned about his association with Vijay and whether he was aware of the latter’s drug abuse.
During questioning, Raj Pakala was taken to his farmhouse at Janwada, and an inquiry was conducted. It is learnt that he denied any knowledge of Vijay’s drug abuse. Senior Cyberabad police stated that irrespective of where the accused abused the drug, in the medical exam, he tested positive.
The investigators took Raj Pakala’s mobile phone for further examination. Police said that, if necessary, Raj Pakala might be called again. After Pakala, police now want to question Vijay.
