Hyderabad Momos Death: Six Arrested in Contaminated Food Case | Hyderabad News


Six arrested over death linked to contaminated momos in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Six persons were arrested by the Banjara Hills police of Hyderabad city in connection with the death of a woman after consuming momos. The accused were identified as Almas, 23, Sajid Hussain, Md. Raees, Md. Sharukh, Md. Haneef, 21, and Md. Rajik, 19 years. The accused were running a momos outlet at Khairatabad, Hyderabad, said police.
Police said after eating momos purchased from the stall operated by the accused, the deceased, identified as Reshma Begum, and her two daughters fell sick. Subsequently, Reshma died while her children recovered later. Several other people who consumed momos from the same outlet also fell sick.
After the incident which came to light on October 28 , police registered a case for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and sealed the momos stall. Based on the investigation and the clues, police arrested the accused and remanded them to judicial custody, said S Venkat Reddy, Asst Commissioner of Police (ACP), Banjara Hills Division.
The accused, hailing from Bihar, migrated to the city for livelihood and were running a momos outlet.
