One person was arrested, while a case was registered against two others on charges of assaulting a man and forcing him to drink urine in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam.
The incident happened on June 14, but was reported days later, after the man filed a complaint against the accused.
Identified as Bhagwan Ram, the man is a businessman and a resident of Rajasthan, who was staying in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram.
According to the police, Ram was involved in a kidnapping case, causing a stir in the area.
On June 14, one of the accused – Bijila Ram, along with two others from Bhagwan Ram’s area in Rajasthan came to Vizianagaram.
They met Ram and took him in a car to an unknown location, where they all consumed alcohol.
Later, they accused Ram of sending obscene messages to their wives and allegedly thrashed him.
They then forced him to drink urine from a bottle and recorded the act as they assaulted him. They also threatened to kill him if he complained to anyone.
The accused then abandoned Ram at a spot and fled.
Upon returning to Vizianagaram, Ram initially did not file a complaint. He approached the police on June 22 after the accused shared the filmed videos with him.
The police registered a complaint and arrested one Devasi Vajeeram in connection with the case.
They said the other two accused – Bijil Ram and Dilip, were on the run and would be arrested soon.
