Vijayawada: AP BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari on Monday inaugurated BJP’s Sanghatan Parva workshop in Vijayawada on Monday. She announced the appointment of Paka Satyanarayana as the returning officer for the elections within the party in Andhra Pradesh, along with assistant election returning officers Bitra Shivanna Rayana, former MLA Mitta Parthasarathy, and Suresh Reddy.
Purandeswari emphasised on the need for renewing party membership every six years and electing booth, mandal, and state-level presidents through a democratic process. She noted that all members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, regularly renew their membership. In just 45 days, the party completed 22 lakh memberships, she added.
She assured that the central govt would continue to support development programmes in AP, including initiatives to enhance connectivity to state capital, Amaravati, and assistance in road construction projects. The central govt also allocated Rs 12,500 crore for the Polavaram project and committed over Rs 900 crore for the reconstruction of the damaged diaphragm wall.
Minister Y Sathya Kumar Yadav commended the party leadership for completing 22 lakh membership registrations. He stated that BJP is the only party with a constitutionally structured membership enrolment process driven by the ideological principles of Jan Sangh.
AP BJP election returning officer Paka Venkata Satyanarayana emphasised that the BJP is the sole democratic party in India, internally upholding democratic values through its election system. He explained that BJP aims to include all segments of society in its membership drives, working towards inclusive growth.
The event was attended by over 300 representatives from across the state.
