Telangana worker in coma for 10 months in Qatar flown back to Hyderabad for treatment

Hyderabad: A worker from Telangana lying in coma in a hospital in Qatar for the last 10 months was flown to Hyderabad on Friday. A special arrangement was made in the seating on the flight to facilitate his travel back home.
Sayanna Badnapally (44), who was working as a driver, had collapsed while having food, as per the medical report in the Qatar hospital.
“He was admitted to the hospital on Dec 24, 2023. He suffered a stroke and went into a coma. He has not been in a situation to speak since then,” his son Vikas said.
“Since he continued to be bedridden, we requested his company to send him to India so that we could pursue his medical treatment here,” Vikas said.
Vikas had urged chief minister A Revanth Reddy to admit his father in NIMS as they could not afford treatment at a private hospital.
According to Mandha Bheem Reddy, president of the Emigrants Welfare Forum and TPCC NRI cell convenor, the general administration department on Friday wrote to NIMS to admit him to the hospital.
