Warangal: A 74-year-old retired Singareni employee died by suicide, allegedly by jumping in front of an approaching train at Warangal Railway Station Yard on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Kusuma Kantaiah of Jawahar Nagar, Bhupalapally town.
According to reports, Kantaiah was standing near the railway yard and as soon as he saw Tirupati-Secunderabad Special Express approaching the station he jumped in front of it. He died on the spot.
Kantaiah’s family members informed the railway police that his depression due to health issues and might have led him to take the extreme step.
The body was handed over to the family members after the postmortem. A case was registered and investigation is underway.
