Stir over snapped high tension wire near school

Hyderabad: Residents protested in front of Srinagar Colony sub station on Tuesday morning after a high tension power line fell near a school in Yellareddyguda, Hyderabad. While no injuries were reported, the incident marks the third such occurrence in the area over the past decade.
Around 20 concerned locals gathered at the site demanding immediate action. “After police visited the spot, they dispersed,” said Panjagutta police inspector Bandari Shobhan.
The electricity department’s senior engineers promised protesters a complete infrastructure overhaul within two months. Local resident Ram Mohan highlighted on Twitter that while most cables in the area have been moved underground, this section remains vulnerable, calling for urgent relocation to prevent potential casualties. Officials warned that temporary power interruptions may occur during the renovation work.
