Telangana Government to Acquire 420 Acres for Six-Lane Road Enhancing Connectivity to Skill University | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Telangana govt will acquire 420 acres and develop a 20-km six-lane road to provide better connectivity to the Young India Skill University and the proposed Future City to Outer Ring Road as well as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has prepared a proposal connecting the skill university and Future City and senior officials said the govt has proposed nine radial roads, including the six-lane road, to connect to ORR and regional ring road in future.
The entire road infrastructure plan is being developed as a greenfield project, an official said.
The revenue department issued a notification on Saturday for land acquisition for the six-lane project. “As part of phase I of the road development plan, 420 acres will be acquired from farmers and land owners from Kongara Khurd village in Maheshwaram mandal, Ferozguda and Kongara Kalan villages in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, Lemur, Rachalur, Gummadavelly, Punjaguda and Meerkhanpet villages in Kandukur mandal in Rangareddy district,” a revenue official said.
Sources in the govt said all the nine radial roads will be developed in two to three phases by taking over 916 acres from 15 villages, which includes 560 acres from private land owners, and the rest will be either govt land or forest land. While the first phase from skill university to ORR exit No. 13 will be taken up immediately, next phase work will be done next year, which will mainly connect to RRR. Land acquisition will be done in Kadthal, Amangal and Kandukur mandals.
Among the proposed radial roads, a 42-km stretch between exit No. 13 of ORR and Akuthotapalli village of Amangal mandal will be the longest. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the skill university in the first week of Aug. The govt has already allotted 150 acres and a 100 crore corpus for the project. Some corporates have also announced contribution to the corpus fund.
While the skill university campus will take a year to complete, some courses such as warehouse executive and key consignor executive under logistics and e-Commerce, finishing skills in nursing excellence under healthcare and pharma associate programme under pharmaceuticals and life sciences will be introduced on Nov 4 at a temporary accommodation.
