Parks can be significant for many reasons, including their environmental, aesthetic and recreational benefits. From children to senior citizens, the parks are visited by people of each generation. To make the experience better, Andhra Pradesh’s alleged first glow park has reopened in Kurnool city. It is named Children’s Park, and is also known as Rocket Park by many. It looks beautiful in the evening and often witnesses a large number of visitors after 4:00 pm. The residents of Kurnool claim that it is the best park to have fun with children amid the busy schedule from morning to evening. Rocket Park comes under the municipal corporation of Kurnool town and is also considered a suitable place for students to study.

It was first opened a few years ago, but now has been modified by the municipal corporation as a part of the beautification works of Kurnool City. The mini zoo, mini flower garden, lotus pool with animation effects, parrots on trees, garland arch, sitting stones, mushrooms, butterflies, 3D LED motifs and illuminated trees are the special attractions of this children’s park.

The Andhra State Inauguration Reception Committee dedicated a statue of the freedom fighter Potti Sreeramulu in the park. It was unveiled by Sri T Viswanathan, former Minister For Finance and Law, Andhra State. Several programmes are also held in this park. The Rocket Park is also equipped with different kinds of rides for children.

This beautiful park, under the management of the municipal city corporation, reportedly charges Rs 5 for children and Rs 10 for adults. Many also criticised the park for the inclusion of artificial plants in the compound. “A park should have lush greenery but this park seems to be illuminated with artificial flowers and plants,” wrote one of the users in the comment section of the post.
