Vijayawada: The state govt on Thursday transferred nine senior IPS officers, including Vijayawada police commissioner P H D Ramakrishna. While Ramakrishna is posted as inspector general (IG) provisioning and logistics, S V Rajasekhar Babu who is presently working as chairman of AP State Level Police Recruitment Board (APSLPRB) is posted as commissioner of Vijayawada.
Ramakrishna is also given with full additional charge of APSLPRB.
Anjana Sinha, a DG rank officer, presently working as chairman AP Road Safety Authority is placed in full additional charge of director general, Special Protection Force (SPF).
Another DG rank officer Madireddy Pratap, who was waiting for posting, is posted as DG AP State Disaster Response and Fire Service duly relieving Shankabrata Bagchi from full additional charge.
Ch Srikanth, presently working as IG OCTOPUS is now posted as IG law and order in the office of DGP. Gopinath Jatti, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rank officer is posted as DIG, Visakhapatnam range, transferring Vishal Gunni from that position. Vishal was asked to report at DGP office for further posting.
Koya Praveen who is also working as DIG Greyhounds is posted as Kurnool range DIG transferring Ch Vijaya Rao to DGP office. Both Vijaya Rao and Vishal Gunni were not given postings.
Vijayawada police commissionerate was upgraded to additional director general (ADG) rank during the previous TDP govt. However, after the YSRCP came to power it was downgraded to IG rank. Though there has been a discussion on upgrading it to ADG rank again, the state govt posted IG rank officer.
