November will be an exciting month for Mahindra fans, as the carmaker prepares to unveil the upcoming XEV 9e and BE 6e born-electric SUVs in their final production avatar on the 26th in Chennai. Based on the brand’s new INGLO platform, the Mahindra BE 6e will be positioned against the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta EV, both due in January 2025. The Mahindra XEV 9e, however, will not have any direct rivals in the country. Its pricing is likely to place it in competition with the Tata Harrier EV, which is expected to launch in 2025.
Both of these forthcoming Mahindra electric SUVs will be positioned above the XUV400 EV in the company’s product lineup. The production-ready versions are expected to retain most of the design elements from the concept models, which were unveiled last year on 15th August.

The Mahindra XEV 9e will be an electric coupe-SUV targeting executive buyers with its spacious cabin and practicality. The SUV’s higher trims may come with a larger 80kWh battery pack and dual electric motors. This setup will provide a range of approximately 435km-450km (WLTP cycle), with a power output of nearly 203bhp. The electric SUV is reported to feature only a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system.
Mahindra has confirmed that its upcoming born-electric SUVs will offer a range of advanced features, including Level 2 ADAS technology, a HUD with augmented navigation, onboard 5G connectivity, active noise cancellation, V2L (vehicle-to-load), an EV-specific connected car package, and a sound system designed by AR Rahman. Previous spy images reveal that the Mahindra XEV 9e will feature a joined three-screen setup, each measuring 12.3 inches, a two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a conventional shift lever on the center console.
The Mahindra BE 6e electric SUV will come with a dual-screen setup, a drive mode selector, a new two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with an illuminating BE logo, an airplane-inspired gear lever, a center console with an engine start/stop button, and more. Similar to the concept, the production-ready BE 6e is expected to measure 4,370mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,635mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm.
