It is also worth stating that my Jimny is ‘stock’ and there is no ‘lift’ and I’m running on the OEM tyres as well.
BHPian Shankar Balan recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
I have installed these on my Jimny. They are taller bump stops. They do make a difference by reducing the articulation to an extent and thus reduce that characteristic ‘thud’ which is common in the Jimny when going over these sharp speed breakers.
In theory, these can also help reduce the propensity of the prop shaft rub problem.
If one wants to buy these they can be got from AM Racing in Delhi for about 7000 the pair. (I am just a customer of theirs and have no personal interest in them otherwise.)
Yes they are expensive. I dont deny that. But so far I am finding them useful.
It is also worth stating that my Jimny is ‘stock’ and there is no ‘lift’ and Im running on the OEM tyres as well.
However I have neither encountered nor tried and tested the prop shaft ‘rub’ bangle thing. I don’t go hard core off road but confine myself to trail drives if at all.
The Galaxy Grey Thunder Edition ‘Trail Rated’ Jimny in the pic is mine. I bought it second-hand in March from Spinny Bangalore. It had done 736kms when I got it. I have now clocked about 2600kms. It is a joy to drive in the city and even on the highway – Ive driven to Mysore and back and had a lot of fun doing that. Im very happy with its Naturally aspirated 1.5 litre engine. I love taking it up to the top revs in eaxh gear. It is like a 4 wheeled motorbike. It is perfect for me, as a lifelong Gypsy enthusiast and owner, because it is the modern Gypsy. It brings out and enhances my happy side in an indescribable manner.
The Green/ Kinetic Yellow Jimny in the picture is some other person’s.
