Guntur: The third edition of the three-day World Telugu Conference will be held in Guntur from Jan 3 to 5 in 2026.
Andhra Saraswata Parishath has started preparations for the mega event almost 14 months in advance to make it a big success. Andhra Saraswata Parishath president Dr. Kesiraju Srinivas, popularly known as Ghazal Srinivas, informed the media here on Tuesday that industrialist and educationist P Ramachandra Raju has been appointed as the chief coordinator of the 2026 World Telugu Mahasabha.
Ghazal Srinivas further added that the Andhra Saraswata Parishath was formed by stalwarts Suravaram Prathapareddy and Burgula Ramakrishna Rao about 75 years with the aim of preserving the Telugu language and its culture and traditions. He said that they revived the organization after the bifurcation of the state as Telangana disbanded the Andhra Saraswatha Parishath.
He said that the organisation is working to spread Telugu language across the world apart from taking steps to conserve art, literature, traditions and cultural forms of Telugu. He said that they successfully conducted the first world convention in 2022 in Bhimavaram and second convention recently in Rajamahendravaram. He said that they have been organizing the world meet as a biennial session by inviting prominent Telugu people from across the globe.
Ramachandra Raju said that they would invite President of India Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the chief ministers of both the Telugu states, four governors and all Telugu celebrities from around the world to highlight the importance of the Telugu language.
He said that they would propose various measures for the development of the language during the session and added that they would organize at least two symposiums on Telugu in the coming 14 months in the district to spread the significance of Telugu language.
He said that about 15,000 students are expected to take part in the world meet apart from 3 lakh people expected to witness the three-day long Telugu festivities.
Kadimilla Varaprasad, Vasireddy Vidyasagar, Chakravadhanula Reddappa Dhaveji, Addala Vasudeva Rao, Sunitha, Dr. Ravi Vadlamani, Sahiti Samakhya general secretary SVS Lakshminarayana, Dr Ramana Yashaswi, Kancharla Anjaneyulu and others were present.
