Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh govt has implemented new security measures by passing a Government Order (G.O.) to protect individuals who expose corruption in state institutions. The order, issued on Friday, designates Mahesh Chandra Laddha, additional director general of police (Intelligence), as the nodal officer for this initiative.
State chief secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad’s directive establishes the ADGP (Intelligence) as the nodal officer responsible for safeguarding those who report misconduct by state employees, govt corporation officials, society members, and personnel in other state-controlled organizations.
As appointed, Laddha will lead the security operations for whistleblowers from his office at Popular Towers in LIC Colony, Vijayawada. This office will function as the primary center for managing security arrangements for individuals who report corruption or other violations. The govt has published contact details to ensure easy access for whistleblowers seeking protection.
This development comes in response to the ministry of home affairs’ directive in Sept emphasizing the importance of protecting corruption informants. The AP govt’s action establishes a secure channel for whistleblowers, reinforcing its anti-corruption stance and dedication to transparent governance.
