Hyderabad: The 16th edition of the India Game Developer Conference (IGDC) is set to be held in the city from Nov 13 to 15, 2024, in a bigger avatar with over 250 speakers, including renowned American game designer Jordan Weisman, who created popular games such as BattleTech, MechWarrior and Shadowrun.
Over 5,000 people are expected to participate in the event, which will feature an expo with over 100 booths, in addition to IGDC awards, Indie Initiative, policy roundtables, and workshops, among others.
This year, IGDC is also expected to attract over 100 investors and publishers for the Investor-Publisher Connect with an eye on helping studios and developers pitch their concepts to investors. The 2023 edition saw over 1,800 curated meetings with more than 70 investors and publishers.
“With over 442 million gamers and an industry growing at a staggering 30% annually, India’s vibrant youth, widespread smartphone adoption, and a booming digital ecosystem have made it one of the world’s fastest-emerging gaming markets,” said Game Developers Association of India president Sridhar Muppidi.
He said the annual event emerged as the ideal platform for India’s rapidly growing gaming ecosystem to bring industry leaders, developers, and innovators together to collaborate, share insights, and shape the future of gaming.
