Nara Lokesh Urges NRIs to Invest in Andhra Pradesh After US Tour | Vijayawada News

Lokesh concludes US tour, appeals to NRIs to invest in AP

Vijayawada: Minister for IT&E and HRD Nara Lokesh concluded his US tour with the unveiling of the NTR statue in Atlanta.
During his week-long tour, Lokesh met with top executives from Fortune 500 companies such as Tesla, Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Salesforce, and Apple. Lokesh stated that ‘Brand CBN’ made it easier for him to meet the heads of many Fortune 500 companies and discuss investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
Lokesh participated in the IT Serve Alliance Synergy, a global conclave, and delivered a keynote address. He highlighted the new initiatives the NDA govt introduced to encourage technological innovations and adopt emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, green energy solutions, and electric vehicle manufacturing.
By explaining the incentives offered by the AP govt, Lokesh aimed to attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) to the state.
This was Lokesh’s first tour after becoming the minister for the second time. The idea was to re-establish contacts with top companies with whom he and his father had a personal connection. In most of these companies, there was a leadership change, and this tour aimed to establish contacts with the new leadership and put working groups in place for further collaboration at the policy level, said sources close to Lokesh.
Lokesh interacted with the Telugu community on the last day of his tour. He unveiled the NTR statue near Cumming, Atlanta. He observed that the reason Telugu people hold their heads high today is because of NTR.
“After the arrest of Naidu in a false case, Brahmani asked whether we need such politics. After seeing 45,000 people attending the gratitude meeting in Hyderabad, and the support shown by Telugu people across the globe, she didn’t talk about it again. The support from the people gave us immense strength to fight against the psycho.”
Terming the NRIs as Most Reliable Indians (MRIs), Lokesh said that he feels like being in Amalapuram, not Atlanta. He mentioned that NRIs’ love for their motherland is heartening as they spend 10 paise out of every rupee they earn on their homeland.
Recalling how the previous govt harassed TDP workers, Lokesh said that even the NRIs became victims of the YSRCP regime. “One person from California invested Rs 500 crore in Amaravati. After YSRCP came to power, they sent vigilance people to trouble him. They insulted him at every step, yet he stood firm,” said Lokesh.
Speaking about his controversial “Red Book,” Lokesh warned that while one chapter concluded and the second is now opened, the third chapter would soon be revealed.
“This isn’t about revenge but accountability. We will implement the Red Book according to procedure,” he clarified, adding that every officer who harassed party workers by violating the law will be brought to book.
Lokesh appealed to NRIs to invest in Andhra Pradesh as the NDA govt is bringing some revolutionary reforms to accelerate growth. He said that Naidu’s govt is working with a vision to make one person an entrepreneur from every family.
