Royal Enfield has big EV plans, and to start, the Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer has introduced a new sub-brand – Flying Flea. The C6 will be the first electric bike under RE’s all-new EV subsidiary. The company has confirmed that the Flying Flea C6 will be launched in the market in spring 2026. It is still unclear whether the Royal Enfield electric bike will be sold via RE’s existing dealership network or through separate Flying Flea dealerships. Here’s a brief on the Flying Flea EV sub-brand and the upcoming C6 electric bike.
Flying Flea EV Subsidiary
RE’s new EV sub-brand will consist of an ‘urban plus riding range’ of lightweight motorcycles. These electric bikes will be capable of covering enough kilometers on a single charge, making them practical for daily city commutes. Royal Enfield plans to use a lot of aluminum and plastic in the construction of Flying Flea electric bikes to keep their weight under control. It is important to note that not all RE electric motorcycles will come under the Flying Flea umbrella. For instance, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric will not be part of this sub-brand. Flying Flea C6 Electric Bike
The C6, Royal Enfield’s first electric offering, pays tribute to the original Flying Flea motorcycles used in World War II. Its retro design shares a resemblance with the original Flying Flea, which featured a 125cc, single-cylinder 2-stroke engine. The Flying Flea C6 includes a round LED headlight, cooling fins, and panels that resemble a fuel tank, with the battery pack mounted in place of the engine. The company claims that the Flying Flea electric bikes will offer “City+” performance, providing more range than regular electric commuter motorcycles.
To keep its weight in check, Royal Enfield has used a flowing forged aluminum frame. The suspension setup includes a girder fork and a monoshock unit. Braking is handled by front and rear disc brakes. The Royal Enfield electric bike is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres.
The Flying Flea C6 features a circular TFT console, similar to the one seen on the RE Guerrilla 450. This unit supports smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It also comes equipped with electronic riding aids, including cruise control and lean-sensitive ABS (anti-lock braking system).
Royal Enfield has confirmed that the Flying Flea C6 will be followed by a scrambler derivative – called the Flying Flea S6. This electric bike will have an enduro-inspired design along with an inverted fork.
