VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh govt is making arrangements for the trial run of a seaplane in Vijayawada on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Punnami Ghat in the city. Officials are making intense arrangements for the landing of the seaplane at the Krishna River.
As per the information, a 10-seater seaplane will be operated on a trial basis between the two temple towns, Vijayawada and Srisailam, in Nandyal district. The AP Airports Development Corporation (APADC) is busy arranging the floating platforms, seating arrangements, and other amenities at the seaplane landing and takeoff berth on the upstream of Prakasam Barrage.
The AP govt is heading to conduct a huge event welcoming the seaplane to the city. Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner Dhyanchandra, along with AP Maritime Board CEO Praveen Aditya and Sub-Collector K. Chaitanya, focused on logistical plans for the event.
The Commissioner said that seating, entry protocols, drinking water supply, and temporary toilet facilities were given top priority. He said that live streaming arrangements via LCD screens at key locations across Vijayawada would allow public viewing.
