The new-generation Maruti Dzire has finally been unveiled ahead of its official price announcement on 11th November 2024. The compact sedan has received significant updates in terms of design, features, and engine mechanism. The 2024 Maruti Dzire model lineup is spread across four trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus. It has a more angular stance and looks entirely distinct from the Swift hatchback on which it is based.
At the front, the compact sedan features a newly designed grille with horizontal slats, new LED headlamps with horizontally positioned DRLs, a revised bumper, and an updated fog lamp assembly. Aside from the newly designed 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, the side profile remains largely unchanged. A few updates have also been made to the rear. The 2024 Maruti Dzire has a dual-tone Black and Beige interior theme with wooden inserts on the dashboard. It comes with a flat-bottom steering wheel similar to the one in the Swift hatchback. Features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an analogue driver’s display, cruise control, a wireless phone charger, and automatic AC with rear AC vents further enhance its comfort quotient.
Maruti Suzuki offers six airbags as standard with the new Dzire. It also comes with rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera. The new Maruti Dzire is the first car in its category to offer a single-pane sunroof.
The engine setup includes two powertrains – a 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol and a 1.2L Z-Series with a factory-fitted CNG kit. While the former produces 82PS and 112Nm, the latter delivers 70PS and 102Nm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT, with the CNG version offered with a manual gearbox only. The carmaker has confirmed that the new Dzire petrol returns a fuel efficiency of 24.79 km/l with the manual gearbox and 25.71 km/l with the AMT. The CNG version offers a mileage of 33.73 km/kg.
The 2024 Maruti Dzire is expected to witness a marginal price hike. The current-generation model is available in the price range of Rs 6.57 lakh – Rs 9.34 lakh (ex-showroom).
