Pawan Kalyan Calls Out Social Media Abuse, Urges Police Action | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan has expressed his displeasure over the apathy in countering false propaganda against the govt on social media. He said despite complaints pouring in, police are not taking proper action on social media abuses. Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu told ministers that he will concentrate on the police department and will bring in change in the next 30 days.
Voicing the same concerns, another minister said because of a few police officers, reputation of the govt is getting hit. They said some officers who played a key role in harassing TDP cadres during the YSRCP regime are in prominent posts again. Even the SPs of some districts are not answering the calls of ministers, they alleged.
Giving an explanation of sorts for his recent comments, Pawan said he was forced to react in that manner because of the inaction of police in taking action. He said women in families have become soft targets for social media bullies, and he could not take it when even his own family members were in tears after watching the ugly posts on social media.
Responding to the concerns, Naidu said the police department has become like that in the last five years and it is also another legacy problem. He said the system will be set right in the next one month.
