Hanamkonda: A two day transcendental meditation training programme for Physical Education Teachers(PET) of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Telangana BC welfare Residential Institutions organized by Maharishi Vedic University, Holland began at Hanamkonda on Wednesday.
Speaking after inaugurating the two day meditation programme, St.Peter’s Educational Institutions chairman N Narayana Reddy said practice of meditation unfolds one’s inner potential.
In the present day life, it is essential to do meditation to overcome stress and strain, he said, adding that yoga and meditation should be made part of the school curriculum. “Yoga improves academic performance of the students,”he observed.
He urged the physical education teachers to strive for not only physical fitness but also strong mental health of students. Vedic University South India Head P C Sekhar Reddy while explaining the benefits of meditation through power point presentation, said it has been globally proven that meditation enhances both mental and physical well-being. About 50 PET teachers participated in the meditation training programme.
