We have entered the penultimate month of 2024, and the Indian automobile industry has some exciting new product launches in store. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed the fourth-generation Dzire launch for 11th November, while its arch-rival, the Honda Amaze, will arrive in showrooms with a generation change on 4th December 2024. The Skoda Kylaq subcompact SUV recently made its global debut and will be launched in the market in the coming weeks. Mahindra & Mahindra’s two new born-electric SUVs – XEV 9e and BE 6e – are set to debut on 26th November. Let’s delve into the key details of these upcoming cars.
New-Gen Maruti Dzire
The Dzire compact sedan enters its next generation with comprehensive design, feature, and mechanical upgrades. Visually, it looks entirely different from its predecessor, especially the front end. While its overall length, width, and wheelbase remain unchanged, the height has increased by 10 mm. Inside, the new Maruti Dzire features a beige theme with brushed aluminum, faux wood, and dark brown accents. A single-pane sunroof is a first-in-segment feature, along with a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, cruise control, and a rear center armrest. The new Dzire also comes with a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and more. Under the hood, it carries a new 1.2L Z12E petrol engine that produces 82 bhp and 118 Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT gearboxes are available.
Skoda Kylaq
Skoda Auto has confirmed that the entry-level variant of the upcoming Kylaq will start at an introductory price of Rs 7.89 lakh. It will be offered in four trims – Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige – powered by a 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI petrol engine. The engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter automatic gearbox, delivers a maximum power of 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. The subcompact SUV is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds. The Skoda Kylaq features the brand’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language and measures 3,995 mm in length, with a wheelbase of 2,566 mm, which is 85 mm shorter than the Kushaq.
Mahindra XEV 9e/BE e6
The upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e and BE e6 electric SUVs are based on the brand’s new INGLO platform, which accommodates multiple lengths, widths, wheelbases, and overhangs. The XEV 9e will compete with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV, while the BE e6 will rival the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta EV. The higher trims of the Mahindra XEV 9e are expected to come with a larger 8-kWh battery pack and dual electric motors, delivering a combined power of around 203 bhp, and will be available with an RWD system only. The Mahindra BE 6e will measure 4,370 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, similar to its concept.
New Gen Honda Amaze
The third-generation Honda Amaze has been teased ahead of its market launch on 4th December 2024. The teaser reveals its revised front fascia, which strongly resembles the globally sold Accord and Civic. The front grille is larger with a honeycomb pattern, and the front bumper and fog lamp assembly have also been updated. Interior details of the new Honda Amaze are not available at this time. However, it is expected to come with a host of new features. Powering the new Amaze will be the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine with 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox options.
