Bhatti Vadra Reassures Bankers on Stability of HYDRAA Initiative | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister and finance minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday asserted that bankers need not be concerned about Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Authority (HYDRAA) as it will not authorize construction permits. He made this statement at a special meeting with bankers at Praja Bhavan.
He clarified that govt entities such as GHMC and its town planning wing thoroughly evaluate all factors prior to issuing construction permits, a practice that would continue under any administration. He noted that HYDRAA would play a role in ensuring security, managing traffic, and prevent encroachments of parks and lakes.
The deputy CM expressed his appreciation for the initiative to convene a special meeting aimed at supporting certain govt departments through the banking sector and recommended that this practice be continued in the future.
He suggested that bankers should give more loans to self-help group (SHG) women “Chief minister A Revanth Reddy, along with the entire cabinet, has resolved to offer interest-free loans amounting to 20,000 crore to self-help groups this year, with the possibility of increasing this amount,” he said. The loan recovery rate of private sector loans was notably low, while for loans extended to self-help group members it exceeds 98%.
