Telangana HC dismisses petition seeking FIR against CM Revanth

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court dismissed a writ petition seeking a direction to SHO, Banjara Hills Police Station to register a case against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The petition was filed by Errolla Srinivas of BRS. The petitioner contended that the Chief Minister has uttered derogatory and filthy language against BRS leaders (former CM KCR, ex-ministers KTR, Harish Rao, and others).

The court observed that the petition is not maintainable and the petitioner has no locus to file such a plea.

Justice Bollam Vijaysen Reddy observed that the Chief Minister speaks on a lot of issues in various meetings.

CM Revanth Reddy had made the remarks in a meeting on March 6, 2024. He had allegedly threatened the BRS party leaders by stating that he would pull out the intestines (referred to as BRS party leaders) garland them around their necks and lead a procession.

Petitioner said threatening other party leaders with such filthy and derogatory language, by CM Revanth Reddy will incite violence and fear amongst the citizens. It will also pave the way for law and order issues in the state, the petitioner said.
