Hyderabad: Dealing with a petition accusing the state of doling out govt land to private parties, the Telangana high court on Wednesday directed the authorities and private parties to maintain status quo in the land situated in Survey No. 37, 40, 42, 43, 44 and 45 in Gachibowli in Serilingampally mandal.
Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy was hearing a writ petition filed by Syed Khajam Hussain and 144 others of Mobile Welfare Society registered in 1991 who have been living in the area by building small dwelling units for the last three decades.
“Though they have applied for regularising their tiny holdings under GO 59 intended to help the poor, the authorities are acting in a manner contrary to the spirit of the regularisation GO. The authorities are trying to regularise the area in favour of Pho
enix Info City and Shipa Pioneers firms in an unlawful manner. As part of this, they are now trying to dispossess us from our dwellings,” senior counsel Jalli Kanakaiah said while bringing the grievance of the petitioners to the notice of the court.
