Vijayawada: YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said the party will boycott the budget session of the assembly. The move is a protest against speaker Ch Ayyanna Patrudu not recognising Jagan as leader of opposition (LoP).
Jagan said that they would get required time in the assembly to raise the issues of people only when they get recognized as main opposition. He said that there would be no use in attending the session as the ruling alliance was not prepared to spare time to opposition and take note of the peoples’ grievances.
Jagan alleged that the govt has failed on all fronts. He said that the law and order situation has worsened and social media activists are being harassed and picked up without following due procedure.
Quoting the Supreme Court ruling, he said first notices should be given to the accused and then magistrate permission should be taken to arrest them. He said that no such procedure is being followed to arrest YSRCP activists in the state.
