Tirupati: The Nellore district court sentenced a 29-year-old man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1,000 in a murder case reported under Indukurpet police station limits in 2021.
Under the good trial monitoring system led by Nellore SP G Krishnakanth, the district police ensured strict punishment for the accused, Chevuru Sudheer, in the case. The incident occurred at Mudivarthipalem village in Indukurpet mandal.
According to the complainant Ch Ramesh, his son Mahendra had an altercation with Sudheer. As the issue escalated, Sudheer killed Mahendra in a premeditated act.
A case was registered at Indukurpet police station with case number 138/2021. The charge sheet was filed after a thorough investigation led by then-CI Jagan Mohan Rao.
The third additional district court Judge L Tejavathi convicted Sudheer based on substantial evidence presented by the prosecution.
SP Krishnakanth appreciated additional public prosecutor KL Narayana and the investigation officers, including former CI Jagan Mohan Rao, for their efforts, which led to the successful conviction in the case.
