Samsung Health Monitor will no longer support older Android versions

Samsung Health Monitor, the go-to app for health tracking, is dropping support for older Android versions. If you happen to have the app installed on your Galaxy wearable and smartphone, you’ll soon receive a software update that will notify you about this change.

Spotted by SamMobile, the new update (1.3.6.001) is the last version of Samsung Health Monitor fully compatible with older Android versions. Starting with version 1.4.1, the app will no longer support phones running Android 11 or older.

According per Samsung’s notification, “from 23/12/2024, Samsung Health Monitor (v 1.4.1) will no longer be available on Android OS 11.0 or lower. We appreciate your understanding, and we highly recommend that you upgrade your OS version to Android OS 12.0 or higher.

If you’re determined to continue to use your old phone instead of upgrading to a newer one that runs at least Android 12, you may still use Samsung Health Monitor. However, you will only be able to use limited services and features without further support.

That said, if you want to keep using all that Samsung Health Monitor has to offer, we recommend updating your Galaxy smartwatch and Galaxy smartphone if you’re still stuck on Android 11 (or older).

You might be able to continue to use Samsung Health Monitor if you don’t update to version 1.4.1, but that’s certainly not a good solution long term. You have until December 23 to decide whether or not it’s worth upgrading to get the full Samsung Health Monitor experience.
