Telangana High Court Responds to Gramakantam Land Protection Concerns | Hyderabad News


Hyderabad: Following allegations of negligence in protecting gramakantam land, the Telangana high court has directed the state govt to convey its stand on who should protect such common utility land in villages.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J Sreenivas Rao issued notices to the principal secretaries of panchayat raj and revenue departments, Rangareddy collector, RDO and tahsildar of Kandukur to file counters within four weeks.
The bench was hearing a PIL by Kandukuri Srinivas, a farmer and resident of Bachupally village, seeking direction to the Rangareddy collector to protect 6.15 acres of panchayat land from encroachment and further issue a direction not to grant building permission in the land.tnn
