Hyderabad: Encryption is becoming very important with the immense growth in cyber security, K Mohan Raidu, president of Internet Society India (ISOC), said at a one-day event on ‘Securing the Digital Future: Innovations and Challenges in Global Encryption’ on Friday.
The event was organised on the occasion of Global Encryption Day 2024 by the School of Computer and Information Sciences (SCIS), University of Hyderabad (UoH), in collaboration with Internet Society (ISOC), Hyderabad chapter.
“Now, encryption has to become a fundamental right,” Raidu added
UoH vice-chancellor B J Rao said that such sessions helped in understanding privacy issues and created digital social awareness among students and faculty.
“Mathematicians and security experts should look into various security needs by means of encryption, cryptography, quantum communication and be prepared for the next 20-30 years,” he added.
SCIS dean Atul Negi said that due to evolving quantum computing and quantum attacks such events were the need of the hour.
