Warangal Kakatiya Zoo to get new inmates from April 1

Hyderabad: The Warangal Kakatiya Zoo will display Tiger, Bison and different types deer from 1st April 2024, said the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and chief wild life warden Mohan Chandra Pargaien. The Forest and Environment minister Konda Surekha has also directed the wildlife dept to upgrade the zoo in swift mode.
“The people of Warangal will be able to see new additions at Kakatiya Zoo Warangal from 1 st April which includes Tiger, Bison, Hog deer and Barking deer,” said Pargaien.
The PCCF inspected the Kakatiya zoo and reviewed various activities of zoo with CCF Bhadradri Bheema Naik and DFO Warangal Lavanya Bhukya. He also inaugurated a new enclosure of birds and a new battery vehicle in the zoo.
He has also informed that as directed by Minister for Forest Konda Surekha various options for exploring financial assistance to make the zoo more attractive like CSR funding are being taken up. Pargaien also inspected the camping sites at Pulimadugu of Gudur division and also inaugurated Green hill Camping site in interior forests of Gangaram range. He has also asked the FDO of Gudur Chandrasekhar and FDO of Mahbubabad Krishnamachary to prepare comprehensive plans for development of Pakhal Sancturay for 2024-25 for which the government has recently created a separate heads of accounts and shared to provide financial assistance.
He has also reviewed progress of on going drive ‘Catch the Trap’ initiative to prevent hunting of wild animals.
