Hyderabad: A 48-year-old woman was raped and threatened allegedly by her son-in-law at their house in Balapur.
The suspect (34), an auto-rickshaw driver, was staying with his three wives and nine children in a rented house in Balapur.
According to the police, the victim who is the mother of the suspect’s third wife was also staying with them and taking care of the children. The suspect, who took advantage of the situation, overpowered and raped the woman on November 4, in the house in the absence of other family members.
The incident came to light only after the victim shared her ordeal to her daughter on Thursday.
Based on the complaint from the victim’s daughter, the Balapur police booked a case and detained the suspect for interrogation.
Meanwhile, the victim was sent to the hospital for a medical examination.
