Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials on Saturday razed around 180 sheds and illegal structures erected on footpaths between Shastripuram and Vattepally in Rajendranagar. These structures were causing traffic jams and hampering pedestrian movement in the locality.
GHMCtown planning wing officials, in coordination with police, initiated action against footpath encroachments at Shastripuram. Initially, the civic body instructed local merchants to vacate their temporary structures. Though a few traders complied willingly, others refused to cooperate, prompting GHMC to undertake enforcement measures.
