Hyderabad: Backward class welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday assured the people that details sought by enumerators in the door-to-door caste survey would be kept confidential.
“The caste survey has no hidden motives and is purely aimed at ensuring a prosperous future for Telangana,” he said, adding that even the details of the state’s first citizen, governor Jishnu Dev Varma, were collected for the survey.
The minister participated in the survey in Husnabad and also collected detailed household information from one of the families along with the enumerators as part of the survey.
He urged the people to participate in the survey without any hesitation and provide accurate information so that the govt can prepare comprehensive plans tailored to the needs of each community.
The minister also appealed to all caste welfare organisations to realise that the census will only help in knowing the socio-economic, educational, political and other status of their respective communities, on the basis of which reservation percentages can be fixed, welfare schemes planned and jobs given.
“Extend full support to the caste survey as it will help in formulating precise development policies for each community based on accurate insights into the population and its economic and other conditions. The survey aims to address disparities and identify areas that need support,” he added.
