HYDERABAD: Two teenagers, Inthiyaz Khan, 18 and Nayab, 18, died and five of their friends sustained minor injuries in an accident on the Hyderabad-Srisailam highway on the outskirts of Hyderabad early on Sunday.
The deceased and their friends, all from Pahadishareef, were on their way to visit the Srisailam Dam. The incident occurred when the SUV they were traveling in went out of control, veered off the highway and crashed into trees on the roadside after flipping multiple times, said the police.
While the cause of the accident is being investigated, police suspect the driver could have dozed off at the wheel and lost control.
There is also a possibility that the vehicle went off the road while attempting to overtake another vehicle, resulting in the crash, said L. Krishnam Raju, SHO of Hyderabad Green Pharma City, Rachakonda Commissionerate.”
