Hyderabad: Despite the rising deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and GenAI, digital engineering company GlobalLogic, part of the Hitachi Group, plans to increase its India headcount by over 30%, from around 15,000 to nearly 20,000-22,000 people over the next two to three years, a top official of the company said on Tuesday.
As part of this expansion, the company is looking at a similar scale-up of its Telangana operations, from around 4,500 techies currently to around 6,000 employees over the next 18 months, GlobalLogic’s managing director and head for APAC, Piyush Jha, said on the sidelines of the opening of the company’s third facility in Hyderabad.
The new 600-seater facility, being touted as an innovation hub for the company, has been set up with around 300 techies, with plans to rapidly grow to 2,000 techies over the next year and a half, Jha said.
He added that the overall expansion in Hyderabad will focus on verticals such as tech, auto, healthcare, as well as consumer commerce and media.
At Mahbubnagar, where the company set up a centre at the IT Towers earlier this year as part of its hub and spoke model, the company is looking to grow from around 350 to 500 techies over the next 18 months.
Jha said the company may also consider tapping other tier-2 and 3 hubs, such as Nizamabad and Karimnagar, as part of its strategy to chart growth by connecting with smaller cities.
As part of this expansion, the company is looking at a similar scale-up of its Telangana operations, from around 4,500 techies currently to around 6,000 employees by mid-2026
