Kia Syros Compact SUV Confirmed For India – Debut Soon

The South Korean automaker has confirmed that its upcoming sub-4 metre SUV will be called the ‘Kia Syros’. While its launch date and details are yet to be officially revealed, the model is expected to make its global debut before the end of 2024. Its India launch will take place in early 2025, possibly at the Bharat Mobility Show or shortly after it. The Syros will be the sixth offering from Kia India and will compete with the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx.

We have seen the upcoming Kia compact SUV in numerous spy images and videos, which is why we have some information about the product. Recently, the carmaker released official sketches showing the vehicle’s tall-boy stance with L-shaped taillamps mounted on the pillars, flush-style door handles, and roof rails. The compact SUV also has bumper-integrated brake lights and a high-mounted stop lamp.

Previous spy images reveal that the Kia Syros will feature the brand’s signature grille, vertically stacked projector headlamps with LED elements, LED DRLs, and four-spoke alloy wheels. According to media reports, the upcoming Kia compact SUV will offer more space for rear-seat passengers compared to the Sonet. In fact, it will be positioned above the Sonet in the company’s product lineup. Read: New-Generation Kia Seltos Coming Soon

The interior of the Syros is still a mystery. However, we expect it to share several features with the Sonet. It might also offer a panoramic sunroof, a Bose audio system, a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup, ventilated and powered front seats, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) tech. However, the ADAS suite could be reserved for the higher trims. The new Kia compact SUV’s safety kit will also include multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, rear disc brakes, ABS with EBD, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Initially, the Kia Syros will be offered with ICE (internal combustion engine) powertrains. Its petrol version might get the 118bhp, 1.0L turbo engine and a naturally aspirated motor, while the diesel version could come with a 1.5L engine. The Syros will also be introduced with an electric powertrain at a later stage.
